Significant upgrades completed on Beverly Street in Cambridge

Your commute through Cambridge could become a little easier on Friday.

A portion of Beverly Street between Dundas Street and Samuelson Street was closed in April of this year to make some upgrades to water and sewer systems, as well as to install a pedestrian underpass underneath the train tracks.

The work, carried out in a collaboration between the City of Cambridge and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), was expected to continue into December.

On Friday, they’ll be celebrating a grand re-opening of the area ahead of schedule, with Cambridge Mayor Jan Liggett, city councillors and staff on hand to celebrate the day.

You’re invited to join in and check out the new multi-use path and pedestrian underpass.

According to the City of Cambridge, minimizing traffic disruptions is part of their goals in creating safe and healthy neighbourhoods.
