Pair from Kitchener arrested after crashing stolen vehicle in Erin

A collision in the town of Erin has led to the arrest of two Kitchener residents.
Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the crash around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning on Trafalgar Road.
According to police, the two occupants of the vehicle had fled into the woods before officers arrived.
Through an investigation, it was determined the vehicle was stolen. The OPP’s aviation and canine units were called in to help and the suspects were found soon after.
As a result, a 31-year-old man from Kitchener has been charged with various offences including:
- Driving while under suspension
- Possession property obtained by crime over $5000
- Failure to stop after accident
- Operation while prohibited
- Dangerous operation
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
A 38-year-old Kitchener woman has also be charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Both are in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
