UW recovers Instagram account after social media page hacked

No damage was done.

The University of Waterloo (UW) says a hacker who got into the institution’s Instagram account made no changes and took no action.

On Nov. 7, UW posted on X that its Instagram account had been hacked and asked users not to interact with the university on that social media platform.

UPDATE: We have successfully recovered our account and after reviewing our activity log it was determined that no activity was performed by the hacker. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. https://t.co/5woWlPGVmR

The university posting Tuesday that it has recovered the Instagram account successfully.
