Rangers look to muzzle the Soo Greyhounds and extend win streak to 4 games

It’s a classic match-up in Sault Ste. Marie tonight.

The Kitchener Rangers look to extend their three-game win streak against a young Greyhounds squad that has struggled out of the gate.

The Hound have just one win in their first 5 games, dropping a heartbreaker last Sunday in Sarnia.

That game saw overage netminder Charlie Shenkle leave in the second period with an apparent injury to his left hand but the club expects him to be available for tonight’s game.

The Rangers meanwhile, are coming off a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the Flint Firebirds on Wednesday It was their third win in a row after dropping the first two games of the season.

Veteran winger Trent Swick, fresh off Vegas Golden Knights training camp, had a pair of goals and added a helper to power the East Ave. Blue past Flint.

Newly acquired defenceman Jakub Chromiak added a pair of assists in his Rangers debut.

Overager Adrien Misaljevic had a goal and two assists in the victory as well, adding to his team-leading 8 points.

Mike Farwell and Paul Fixter will have tonight’s action on 570 News Radio starting with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.

The Blueshirts wrap up their road trip Saturday night against the defending Memorial Cup Champion Saginaw Spirit.
