Rangers earn third straight victory with comeback win over Flint Firebirds

The Kitchener Rangers kicked off their first long road trip of the season with a dramatic 3-2 victory south of the border on Wednesday.

Rangers forward Trent Swick returned to the team from Vegas Golden Knights training camp and was the difference maker in a comeback win over the Flint Firebirds.

Swick found the back of the net twice and added an assist as the Blueshirts scored three-straight goals to erase a two-goal deficit.

“He was a big presence out there,” said 570 NewsRadio Colour Commentator Paul Fixter about Swick. “He’s a big body, obviously, but he made his presence felt on the scoresheet. What a great addition to have in this lineup.”

Rangers forward Adrian Misaljevic continued his hot streak adding a goal and a pair of assists. He currently leads all Rangers skaters with 7 points on the year.

After a stuttering start to the year, Kitchener now carry an impressive three-game win streak with them as they head north to face the bottom-dwelling Soo Greyhounds on Friday night.

“I think what you see is what you’re going to get with this hockey club this year,” said Fixter about the Rangers win streak. “They’ve gone behind in all six games and have found a way to fight back. They’re keeping those goals against at a level where they’re able to come back and find a way to get a win.”

The Greyhounds have only won once in their first five games to begin the season.
