Police searching for suspects after ‘dognapping’ in Kitchener

By Erin Anderson

Waterloo Regional Police are trying to track down thieves after a dognapping at a Kitchener home last week.

The theft happened Friday night just after 10:30 p.m. as two people entered a residence on Walter Street and allegedly stole a Blue Merle French Bulldog.

No one was hurt and the two suspects hopped into an awaiting vehicle and took off. They’re described as being a white male and a white female, who both had thin builds.

Police think it was a targeted crime and have released a photo of a vehicle they want to identify in connection with the investigation.

They’re also concerned the dognappers may try to sell the stolen pet.

If you see any suspicious advertisements or have any information about the dognapping, you’re asked to contact investigators at 519-570-9777, ext. 8255. Anonymous tips can be left with Crime Stoppers.
