Amazon has released details on their plans to open a new fulfillment centre.

Amazon is calling its newest fulfillment centre YHM2, boasting that the facility will “offer in-demand skills training and career growth opportunities while helping optimize Amazon’s regional operations network.”

They plan to launch the centre with 250 jobs.

Amazon’s site lead, Greg Clutton, said in a media release that the facility will bring the best of Amazon’s logistics expertise to the city while helping them to deliver products.

“We are proud to be creating good jobs while making important contributions to the local community,” said Clutton.

The location in Cambridge will support Amazon’s fulfillment network in southwestern Ontario before they ramp up for the holidays.

With the facility ready to open later this month, Amazon will operate 12 fulfillment centres, two sortation centres, 16 delivery stations and two AMXL delivery stations across Ontario.
