Police investigating attempted abduction in Ayr

Police are investigating an attempted abduction in Ayr on Saturday.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. in the area of Waterloo Rd. and Ayr Rd. North.

A woman was jogging in the area when a grey SUV approached her. An unknown man got out of the vehicle and tried to pull the woman inside.

She escaped from the area and police were contacted.

The man is described as middle-aged, with fair skin and dark hair, and police believe he was wearing a tracksuit at the time.

Police added that they believe there were others in the vehicle at the time of the attempted abduction.

Anyone with surveillance video of the area is asked to contact police at 519-570-9777.
