Kitchener teen arrested and charged for wielding a firearm

A Kitchener teen has been arrested and charged after brandishing a gun during an altercation on Sunday evening.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, the incident took place around 8:30 p.m. in the area of King Street East and Sheldon Drive

A group of youths were involved in an argument when one of them took out a firearm and pointed it. The group dispersed before police arrived on the scene.

Officers later found the teen who pointed the gun and arrested him.

The 17-year-old from Kitchener was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to comply with a sentence order and held for a bail hearing.
