Kitchener teen airlifted to hospital after dirt bike collision in Wilmot

An air ambulance came in for a landing in Wilmot Township to take an 18-year-old to hospital after she was badly hurt in a dirt bike collision.

Waterloo Regional Police said it happened around 10:00, Tuesday night, on Mannheim Road, between Witmer Road and Huron Road.

Police have said it was a collision between an electric dirt bike and a Ford.

An 18-year-old Kitchener woman driving the bike was taken by an Ornge air ambulance to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.

The driver, a 24-year-old man also from Kitchener was not hurt.

Mannheim Road was closed for several hours as police investigated but, has since reopened.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and charges are expected.
