Over 200 guns seized by police from Guelph home

What started as a traffic stop in Waterloo, ended with hundreds of guns taken in by Waterloo Regional Police.

Friday evening, around 7 p.m., officers pulled over a vehicle near Weber Street North and Bridgeport Road East.

Seventeen guns were found inside, and a 39-year-old from Guelph was charged.

That stop led investigators to a home in Guelph, where over 200 guns, a large amount of ammunition, magazines and firearm parts were found.

More charges are expected to be laid.

Regional Police say there is nothing suspicious about the possession of the weapons, with all the charges related to storage and handling at this point.
