Charge laid for collision in Hespeler that put a pedestrian in hospital

A 72-year-old driver from Cambridge has been charged for a Saturday night collision that sent a pedestrian to hospital.

Waterloo Regional Police say it happened around 9:30 at Queen Street West and Winston Boulevard.

They say a 29-year-old man from Cambridge was struck by a black Lexus as it was turning from Queen onto Winston.

He was taken to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening physical injuries.

The driver was not hurt.

He now faces one count of careless driving causing bodily harm.
