The Reklaws wow judges at America’s Got Talent

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

A brother-sister country duo with ties to Waterloo Region made their big American debut this week.

Jenna and Stuart Walker grew up in North Dumfries and have already made a name for themselves here in Canada as the band The Reklaws.

They took their act to the stage of America’s Got Talent and played a song that’s very personal to them.

“We wanted it to be a song specifically about our mom. We lost our mom to mental health and that shook up our world,” Jenna said.

The single is called “People Don’t Talk About” and the siblings received major praise from the judges, including Howie Mandel who gave them a standing ovation.

Simon Cowell even applauded the two for their performance.

“That was a great, great audition. Seriously good,” Cowell said. “Unbelievably powerful. That song was stunning.”

The Reklaws received a “yes” from all four judges. They’re moving on to the next stage of the competition series for a chance to win $1 million.
