Hells Angels associates arrested after search warrants in Waterloo Region

Five people were arrested and charged after police conducted multiple search warrants at places across Waterloo Region.

One “hangaround” from the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club and four associates were arrested on May 11, 13 and 21 after an investigation with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) led Biker Enforcement Unit and support from Waterloo Regional Police.

“The Hells Angels Motorcycle Club is an OMG (Outlaw Motorcycle Gang) that use their interest in motorcycles as a cover for illegal activities including drug trafficking, fraud, counterfeiting, money laundering, contraband smuggling, extortion, violence, and illegal gambling,” Scott Wade, Detective Inspector of the OPP, said.

Locations searched include two residences, two unlicensed liquor establishments and the Hells Angel’s clubhouse in Kitchener.

Police seized a restricted handgun, about one kilogram of suspected cocaine, a large quantity of alcohol and electronic devices.

The five people were charged with 14 offences under Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Liquor Licence and Control Act.

This investigation remains ongoing, police said. Anyone with information regarding illegal activity associated with Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs (OMGs) is urged to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
