City of Waterloo looking for public input on tree canopy

Have you noticed a particular area of Waterloo that lacks a little bit of green?

You can tell the City of Waterloo about it through a survey as they look for public input to inform its its urban forest management strategy.

The City of Waterloo is looking for ways to increase the urban tree canopy in the city over the next quarter-century.

According to the city, right now 32.5 per cent of waterloo is covered by trees. The City of Waterloo wants to maintain the number of trees they do have and add more in order to shade surface areas, provide habitat for animals, and absorb carbon dioxide, helping to decrease air pollution.

You can provide your feedback at events and meetings throughout the summer as well as online at www.engagewr.ca/future-of-trees-waterloo.
