Officers spot a stolen car in Kitchener, find a wanted suspect

A man wanted on multiple warrants is back in handcuffs after eagle-eyed police officers spotted an allegedly stolen car in Kitchener.

Regional police said it happened sometime Wednesday, when officers on patrol around Wellington Street North and St. Leger Street saw a vehicle that been reported stolen.

Police said the man who had that vehicle was wanted on multiple warrants.

He was also allegedly found to be in possession of drugs, believed to be fentanyl, along with certain items used for trafficking.

The 34-year-old from Kitchener has been charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance
  • Possession of stolen property over $5000
  • Possession of stolen property under $5000
  • Fail to comply with a release order
