The Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev) has announced funding for a local women-led dental care manufacturer.

It was announced Friday morning that Spa Dent Inc. is receiving $525,000 in funding which will create 10 jobs and meet growing demand of eco-friendly oral care products.

The company said it will use the funds to diversify three of its manufacturing lines so it can increase its distribution in local and export markets. The company said it will also develop a new in-house testing lab to reduce lead times, improve quality control, and lower production costs.

The announcement was made today with Kitchener South Hespeler MP Valerie Bradford and Minister Filomena Tassi, who is responsible for FedDev Ontario.

“Today’s announcement is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit of Spa Dent Inc., driving advancements in natural oral care solutions, said Tassi. “This investment not only supports the growth of a local, women-led business but it also creates jobs and economic prosperity in our community.”
