Three groups in Cambridge have received a heap of funding to help improve and maintain the work they do to help the community.

The YMCA of Three Rivers, YWCA Cambridge, and Crow Shield Lodge have received a combined $412,600 from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Cambridge MPP Brian Riddell made the announcement on April 26.

YWCA Cambridge is getting nearly $200,000 to develop and test programs to meet the needs of girls, gender-diverse and two-spirit youths.

The YMCA of Three Rivers will receive about $175,000 to go towards their mission-driven work and establish a major and planned gift strategy to develop it’s revenue potential.

Finally, Crow Shield Lodge is receiving almost $40,000 to continue to provide healing and community programs to local urban Indigenous populations and allies.

Over the past seven years, the Ontario Trillium Foundation has invested $730 million in more than 5000 projects across the province.
