Police investigating armed vehicle robbery in downtown Kitchener

Police are investigating after a vehicle was stolen in downtown Kitchener.

They responded to reports of the stolen vehicle at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 in the area of Cedar St. North and King St. East.

The owner of the vehicle was sitting idle in their vehicle in a parking lot when they were approached by an unknown suspect who was armed with a knife. They allegedly demanded the owner exit the vehicle, stole it, and then took off down Cedar St. South.

The owner of the vehicle was not injured in the robbery.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Robbery Team is investigating the incident.
