Two arrests made, third suspect outstanding in August assault investigation

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Police have arrested two people in connection with a summertime assault incident in Waterloo as a third suspect remains outstanding.

This week, Waterloo Regional Police arrested a 23-year-old Cambridge woman and a 25-year-old Kitchener man.

They were both charged with assault and will appear in court in January.

Investigators are still working to identify a third suspect and re-released a photo of the man with hopes of generating tips from the public.

This all stems from an assault in the Bridgeport Road and King Street North area of Waterloo on Aug. 20.

Police said there was a disturbance involving a group of 15 to 20 people, which then escalated.

A 27-year-old man was assaulted and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
