OPP charge two men with murder of Kitchener man in 2019

Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have announced that two men have been charged in the murder case of Jason Brown.

The 43-year-old Kitchener man was abducted from the Harriston Cemetery in Harriston, Ontario on March 12, 2019. The next day his body was located by Durham Region police on Stevenson Road, north of Whitby.

A homicide investigation has been ongoing since then.

OPP reported that they arrested Joshua Alexander Drumond, a 32-year-old from Edmonton, Alberta, and Steven Jon Walsom-Gerigs, a 33-year-old from Brantford, Ontario on Wednesday.

Drumond was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant and Edmonton Police assisted in his arrest.

They have both been charged with first-degree murder, and kidnapping.

They were scheduled to appear in court on Friday in Guelph.

OPP is continuing its investigation into Brown’s death.
