Search warrant yields firearm, drugs in Kitchener

Three people now face a range of drug trafficking and firearm related offences following the completion of a search warrant in Kitchener.

A search warrant was carried out by Waterloo Regional Police’s Drugs and Firearm Unit, alongside the Emergency Response Team at a residence in the Queen Street South and Courtland Avenue East area.

As a result of that investigation, officers were able to seize a firearm as well as two prohibited devices, stolen identification documents and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Also included in the seizure were quantities of suspected fentanyl and suspected methamphetamine.

A 38-year-old Kitchener man, a 29-year-old man and a 19-year-old Kitchener woman have been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of a Prohibited Device
  • Possess Identity Documents

Both male suspects were also charged with possession of suspected methamphetamine.
