What is open and closed in Waterloo Region on the Civic Holiday?

The Region of Waterloo, as well as the tri-cities have all notified the public about what services and facilities are open and closed on the holiday Monday.
Grand River Transit
GRT will operate on a holiday service schedule. Holiday service is noted on all route schedules. GRT customer service locations and hours of operation:
- 35 Ainslie St. S., Cambridge | 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- 105 King St. E., Kitchener | 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Note: Customer service will be closed from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Cambridge and Waterloo waste sites
- Closed for residential drop-off.
Regional administrative offices
- 99 Regina in Waterloo, 150 Frederick in Kitchener, 150 Main in Cambridge and Airport Administrative offices are all closed.
Region of Waterloo International Airport
- Operating normal hours.
Waste, recycling, green bin and yard waste
- Curbside waste collection will remain the same. The Region reminds residents to have waste items to the curb by 7 a.m.
Cooling centres
- Region of Waterloo administrative buildings at 150 Main Street (Cambridge) and 150 Frederick Street (Kitchener) are open from 8 to 6 p.m.
Libraries
- Closed.
Waterloo City Hall and Service Centre
- Closed.
Waterloo community centres
- Albert McCormick Community Centre is closed.
- Bechtel Park Manulife Soccer & Sports Centre is closed.
- Moses Springer Community Centre is closed, but the pool is open for its regular schedule.
- RIM Park Manulife Sportsplex & Healthy Living Centre is open at 4 p.m. for regularly scheduled programs.
- Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex and Swimplex is open until 10 p.m. for regularly scheduled programs. Swimplex open at 12:15 p.m.
- WMRC Community Pavilion (Adult Recreation Centre) is closed.
Kitchener City Hall and community centres
- All closed.
Kitchener pools and splashpads
- City of Kitchener splashpads and outdoor pools are open.
- Indoor pools are closed.
Cambridge City Hall
- Closed.
Cambridge community centres
- All arenas are closed.
- Allan Reuter Centre is closed.
- David Durward Centre is closed.
- John Dolson Centre is operating with regular hours.
- Ted Wake Centre is closed.
- W.G. Johnson Centre is operating with regular hours.
- William E. Pautler Centre is closed.
