No injuries after house fire downtown Kitchener

A house fire in downtown Kitchener is not believed to be suspicious.

Police said they received multiple emergency calls Thursday around 2:25 p.m. about a structure fire in the Cedar Street and Weber Street area.

The house was engulfed when crews arrived but the residents were able to evacuate safely and no one was hurt.

The fire was extinguished and is not considered suspicious.

Cedar Street was closed between Weber Street and Duke Street but has since reopened.
