Charges pending in connection with Kitchener crash

Waterloo Regional Police say charges are pending following a two-vehicle collision in Kitchener.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, in the area of Fairway Road and Wilson Avenue.

According to the police report, a Smart Car, being driven by a 64-year-old Kitchener man, was heading east on Fairway, crossing Wilson. A Mazda, being operated by a 28-year-old Kitchener woman, was travelling west on Fairway, making a left turn onto Wilson.

The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The 64-year-old man suffered serious injuries. The 28-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries.

Several witnesses remained at the scene to assist and provide dash-cam footage to police.

The intersection was closed for several hours for the investigation.
