Regional police investigating fire at student residence building in Waterloo

Nobody was hurt after a small fire in a student housing building in Waterloo.

Regional police and fire crews were called to 328 Regina Street North, also known as Bridgeport House, Monday night.

Police said the fire was contained to a single unit, and the fire was not extensive.

Waterloo Fire said there was sprinkler heads burst, causing water damage.

Damage is said to be minimal, and the cause is undetermined.

Police had closed roads in the area as a result, but the roads are open.
