Kitchener’s ApplyBoard hits milestone, achieves ‘unicorn’ status

Local tech company ApplyBoard is getting recognition from the community for its latest achievement.

ApplyBoard closed C$100M in Series C funding on Tuesday. 

The University of Waterloo posted to its website, “Velocity alumnus and local entrepreneurial success story ApplyBoard has reached a major monetary milestone. The international student-focused school application company is now valued at $2 billion after ending its second round of venture capital financing.”

UW President Feridun Hamdullahpar tweeted his congratulations, and so did Kitchener Mayor Berry Vrbanovic.
