The app is called MyEffect.
Its focus is on helping people get involved in individual action through local causes.
Kelly Lovell is a local entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of MyEffect and Lovell Corporation. She explained what the app is all about.
“Connects you with partners, non-profit brands and influencers, to take action for a shared cause and tracks everyone's impact. What is unique about the app is we have aligned it fully with the United Nations sustainable development goals, which is essentially a framework of 17 core global challenges or cause categories.”
She explained how it works.
“We connect you with tangible, task-based activities that you can do in your community to address the causes that you care about. My passion and my focus is really to help harness their passions and give them a pathway.”
Lovell says people often get stuck on how they can get involved and make a difference.
“We hope to bridge that gap by giving individuals a tool that they can take what they are passionate about and then find the tangible ways that they can impliment and participate in those micro-activities.”
She says her company has also partnered with the United Nation for the 2030 Youth Challenge – which is an initiative that aims at engaging people under the age of 30.
