By CityNews Kitchener Staff

If you love cherries, you will want to make your way to Cherry Park in Kitchener on Saturday.

The Cherry Park Neighbourhood Association is hosting its 12th annual Cherry Festival from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

“The purpose of the festival is to build community by bringing people into our neighbourhood, to fill the park with a festive atmosphere and to celebrate the cherry harvest.” said a release.

Organizers say the festival usually brings out over 5,000 people.

Of course there will be fresh cherries, cherry pies, ice cream and so much more.

There will also be activities for the kids including a jumping room and mini-putt.

The festival says there is plenty of free parking in the lot on Dominion Street.
