Mandarin offering free buffet on Canada Day

By CityNews Kitchener Staff

You can eat for free at Mandarin Restaurants across Ontario on Canada's birthday.

On July 1, you can enjoy the buffet, plus complimentary soft drinks, tea and coffee, from noon until 8:30 p.m.

Mandarin says they expect lineups to start in the morning and it will be on a first come, first serve basis. No reservations will be taken on that day.

All you need to bring is proof of Canadian citizenship.

They expect to serve over 40,000 spring rolls, 2,500 pounds of rice and 65,000 sweet and sour chicken balls.

Mandarin is also doing so to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

“The support we have received since day one has truly changed our lives and we are very proud to be Canadian. We are honoured to give back and say 'Thank You!' to Canadian citizens with a free meal this Canada Day.”
President and Co-Founder of Mandarin Restaurant Franchise Corporation, James Chiu said in a release.

Mandarin has a location at 4220 King Street East in Kitchener.
