A truck driver from Brant County is charged with a collision that came after an earlier crash on Line 86 earlier this year.
Waterloo Regional Police Service said it was in the afternoon of Jan. 22 when an 18-wheeler transport truck plowed into a passenger vehicle on the side of the roadway in Wellesley Township.
Police said the passenger vehicle was stopped there after being involved in a minor collision.
They said the 18-wheeler had collided with another transport truck as it was travelling along just up the road, and one of the trucks collided with one of the passenger vehicles, leaving both with extensive damage.
A 25-year-old man driving one of the passenger vehicles was sent to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 57-year-old man driving the truck was taken to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.
That driver has now been charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance, careless driving, and drive with handheld entertainment device.
