REGION OF WATERLOO

Riders of the ION train will soon be on their way as service begins on Friday, June 21, 2019.
With free fares till Canada Day, passengers will be able to hop on and off the rail service, providing riders an opportunity to stop along the route and take in the series of vibrant and inviting ION Public Art installations.
“Public art along the ION corridor enhances the transit experience, while improving the cultural components of our community,” says the Region’s director of cultural services, Helen Chimirri-Russell.
Community input through a series of public consultations was key in the selection process of the nine art installations, with an aim to express and reflect Waterloo Region’s unique identity.
ION Public Art can be found at the following ION stations:
Conestoga Station: Continuum by Catherine Paleczny
Grand River Hospital: Spinal Column by Sandra Dunn
