Seven outstanding people have received honorary degrees from the University of Guelph at this year's Spring Convocation ceremony.
Each of the honorary degree recipients have a strong connection to the University of Guelph or its values.
University Secretary Genevieve Gauthier-Chalifour says an honorary degree recognizes individuals with extraordinary achievements.
“So there's some individuals who will receive them and it will be their first, and there are several who will receive many honorary degrees. So it really depends on the individual and what they've contributed and how they're connected to a particular university or perhaps to Canadian society more broadly and many universities will be wanting to honour them.”
The ceremonies took place between June 11 to June 13.
You can learn more about each of the recipients on the University of Guelph website.
