Kitchener doctor to have discipline hearing in connection to alleged professional misconduct

A Kitchener doctor faces a discipline hearing before the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
The college says this is in connection to incidents taking place between June and August 2016.
It’s alleged that Dr. Troy Drone engaged in “disgraceful, dishonourable or unprofessional conduct and conduct unbecoming a physician.”
This in connection to “offensive, objectionable and inappropriate communications to the then-President of the Ontario Medical Association.”
The anaesthesiologist’s practice is based at Grand River Hospital, with privileges at St. Mary’s General hospital.
He will appear before the college committee on June 25.
The college says that if these allegations are proven to be true, the doctor could face a registration suspension, conditions on his practice and a fine.
