One person dead after crash on Wellington Road 124

Wellington County OPP are investigating a fatal head-on crash on HWY 124 just east of Guelph.

Police say a tractor trailer and a Dodge sedan collided between Jones Base Line and Watson Parkway around 12:30 p.m on Tuesday.

The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the tractor trailer was rushed to hospital with minor injuries.

The name of the deceased will be withheld until family is notified.

The road was closed for several hours, but has since re-opened.
