Ever After Festival hits the stage this weekend

A high energy music and camping festival in our region is music to our local economy’s ears.
Up to 30,000 people are expected to take in the tunes and dance the day away at Bingemans this weekend for the Ever After Festival.
President at Beyond Oz Productions Gabriel Mattacchione says festival-goers are coming from almost every province and U.S. state — with organizers even seeing ticket sales from across the pond. Between hotels, food and souvenirs, the economic impact in Kitchener is pegged in the millions.
“In the four days that tourists are here, we inject a little over $20-million. Hotel capacities are increased about 40 per cent,” he says. “The neighbours, aside from hearing some noise, I think they enjoy us being here and they reap the positive benefits from it.”
Bass-heavy artists Excision, Bassnectar and Zeds Dead, and American rapper French Montana will hit the festival’s three stages this weekend. But Mattacchione says it’s more than just a show.
“What I believe a festival has to be is a truly engaging experience. It has to go beyond the music,” says Mattacchione. “Bingemans’ venue naturally provides some certain aspects that make what I want Ever After to be.”
