27-year-old Elmira man killed after crash in Sudbury

Provincial police from the Sudbury detachment are investigating a single vehicle crash in Killarney that claimed two lives.
The collision happened Friday evening on Highway 637.
The victims have now been identified as 27-year old Peter Surey of Maple, Ontario and 27-year old Bryan Maher of Elmira.
A family friend of Surey’s tells 570 News that Peter was also from the Elmira area, he went to Elmira District Secondary School and was a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University.
Surey is described by family as energetic, with a great sense of humour and unique zest for life. Peter’s visitation will be held Sunday May 14 at the Dreisinger Funeral Home.
Maher was well known in the Elimra and St. Jacobs area, he operated as a local volunteer firefighter in Woolwich, and is one of the founding members at Block 3 Brewery in St. Jacobs.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
A funeral for Maher will be held Saturday morning in Elmira at St. James Lutheran Church.
