Kitchener is on board when it comes to sweeping changes in how trash is collected in Waterloo Region.
The new rules take effect in March and will change garbage collection to bi-weekly as compared to the current weekly basis.
Blue box and green bin collection will continue on a weekly basis.
The new rules include a four garbage bag/container limit.
If you exceed that limit, you will need to have a designated tag on the extra bags.
The tags sell for $20 for a sheet of ten.
Kitchener has announced, beginning March 6th, residents will be able to purchase those tags at 14 community centres around the city.
They include:
-The Breithaupt Centre
-The Bridgeport Community Centre
-The Centreville Chicopee Community Centre
-The Chandler Mowat Community Centre
-The Country Hill Community Centre
-The Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre
-The Downtown Community Centre
-The Forest Heights Community Centre
-The Kingsdale Community Centre
-The Mill Courtland Community Centre
-The Rockway Community Centre
-The Stanley Park Community Centre
-The Victoria Hills Community Centre
-The Williamsburg Community Centre
