Kitchener split doubleheader with Bandits

It was Pokemon Go night Sunday at Jack Couch Park.
Not only were fans able to catch creatures around the park, they were also treated to a doubleheader.
The Panthers and Burlington Bandits played the rest of a game that started June 26th, but was suspended because of rain. The first game of the doubleheader began with Burlington leading 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Mike Gordner had five hits, while Tanner Nivins hit two home runs for the Panthers. Julian Johnson was unstoppable for the Burlington Bandits hitting a home run and batting in six runs. Noelvis Entenza (8-4) gets the loss for Kitchener. He allowed four runs on five hits, while striking out four. The Bandits ended Kitchener’s five game win streak, defeating Kitchener by a score of 11-10.
Game two was a much different story for the Panthers.
The bats came alive at the plate, Nivins hit a home run, driving in two runs and scoring three. He now leads the IBL with 15 jacks on the year. The Bandits could not figure out Gordner at the plate, he had four hits, four runs and three RBI. David Whiteside added a double of his own, driving in four runs.
Entenza pitched five innings in Game two and Kitchener came out with a 12-3 win.
The Panthers improve to 26-8, leading the second place London Majors by 1.5 games.
Kitchener will round out their season next weekend, taking on London Friday at Labatt Park, and Brantford Sunday at Jack Couch.
