UPDATED: Southern States continue to get pounded by storms

The death toll from a wave of freakish winter weather across the southern U-S has risen to 25, after at least seven people were killed overnight in Texas.
Four of them died in related traffic accidents at the intersection of two major highways east of Dallas.
The region is in for more bad weather today, with a storm expected to drop up to 40 centimetres of snow on West Texas and much of New Mexico.
Severe weather continues to plague the southern United States. On Christmas Day a tornado touched down in north-central Alabama.
That followed torrential rain and deadly storms that left at least 14 people dead in three other states in the region.
