Serial killer Paul Bernardo selling a book on Amazon

Paul Bernardo, who is serving a life sentence in prison for the deaths of Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy, has published a book that is being sold on Amazon.com.
Bernardo is in solitary confinement at Millhaven Institution in Bath, Ont. He was sentenced to life for the deaths of French and Mahaffy in 1995. He has also been declared a dangerous offender, making it unlikely he will ever be released, though he can apply for parole in 2020.
The book, titled A MAD World Order, is a 631-page fictional spy thriller about a man who uncovers a plot to return Russia to a world power. It is available for download to Amazon Kindle devices for just $7.77.
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) said the convicted killer can pocket the profits because the book is unrelated to his crimes.
“Offenders are not permitted to profit from the recounting of their crimes, however, we are advised that this e-book is a fictional piece that does not relate to the offender’s specific crimes,” CSC told CityNews via email.
“While inmates incarcerated in federal correctional facilities have limited access to computers, they do not have access to the Internet or email. They are able to communicate with members of the public in writing and are entitled to privileged correspondence with their legal counsel,” CSC added.
Customer reviews since the story broke have implored Amazon to remove the book from their catalogue.
“Amazon is DESPICABLE in selling this ‘book’ from this monster. He murdered three young women and raped unknown others,” one reviewer writes. “I will do no further business with Amazon while it allows this scum to profit.”
“Disgusted to learn that this was for sale on Amazon,” another writes. “I too will not be purchasing from Amazon until this is removed.”
In June, Bernardo applied for day parole in the Toronto area. However, because Bernardo is listed as a dangerous offender, most legal experts believe he will not be granted any form of parole.
