Local farmers have been dealing with another growing season of extremes.
It’s gone from cool and wet to hot and dry.
James Herrle of Herrle’s Country Farm Market tells 570 News it’s a bit of a balancing act with different crops and the weather.
“They like slightly different conditions. Peas, spinch would like cool and wet. Corn and beans would like hot and dry. Certainly, everything likes enough moisture, but nothing likes too much moisture so it’s always a fine line.”
Overall Herrle says the growing season is not normal anymore and this year has been no different than others.
