Second Quebec man found drowned after attempting to save five-year-old boy

RAWDON, Que. – The body of a 53-year-old man who jumped into a river to help save a young boy north of Montreal was found Tuesday.
The discovery by Quebec provincial police divers came a day after another man died after he also dove into the water to help the child.
That man was pulled from the Dorwin Falls in critical condition and died soon after.
The man whose body was found Monday was the boy’s father, according to some reports.
Provincial police Sgt. Melanie Dumaresq said the child was doing well after being saved by park rangers.
“It was different families and, at a certain moment, a five-year-old child was having difficulty in the water,” said Dumaresq. “The two men went into the water to help him but it was in vain.
“As for the child, he was attended to by park employees.”
