Author Kate Cayley captures Trillium Book Award

TORONTO – Author Kate Cayley has captured this year’s English language Trillium Book Award for her book entitled “How You Were Born,” published by Pedlar Press.

Michel Dallaire, who wrote “Violoncelle pour lune d’automne,” won the French language prize.

Both writers collect a $20,000 prize and another $2,500 towards their promotional costs.

This year’s English language winner for poetry is Brecken Hancock for “Broom Broom” and the French language winner for children’s literature is Micheline Marchand for “Mauvaise mine.”

Both writers each receive $10,000 and their publishers receive $2,000.
