City warns of person asking about water meters, bills

The City of Guelph is warning people that municipal employees will never ask for banking or payment information at the door.

The city posted on its social media channels that its received reports of a person contacting residents about their water meters and water bills.

“The City has not partnered with an external party and does not endorse these actions,” said the notice.

“City staff wear City of Guelph uniforms and carry staff ID.”

All local water billing information can be found through the city’s website.
