Arlene Dickinson latest dragon to leave CBC-TV reality series ‘Dragons’ Den’

By The Canadian Press

TORONTO – Yet another dragon is leaving the den.

CBC says longtime “Dragons’ Den” judge Arlene Dickinson is leaving the reality TV series “to pursue other business endeavours.”

Dickinson, who is the CEO of Venture Communications and YouInc.com, says in a release that she has “some big dreams” she needs to chase.

The news comes just one week after fellow judge David Chilton announced he was exiting the weekly series, in which budding entrepreneurs seek investment from a panel of business moguls.

Dickinson had been a judge on the show for eight seasons.

The current season of “Dragons’ Den” airs Wednesdays on CBC-TV.

“The impossible dream that starts in someone’s basement can grow into a business that feeds families, drives growth and innovation, and makes our country a better place. We’ve seen it time and again on ‘Dragons’ Den,'” Dickinson said Friday in a release.

“I know all about dreams,” Dickinson continued. “The opportunity to be a Dragon has made some of mine come true. But I still have some big dreams, ones I want and need to chase.”
