OEB approves hydro rate increase for Guelph customers

Hydro rates are going up for customers in Guelph.
The Ontario Energy Board approved a rate increase of 1.3 percent for Guelph Hydro Electric Systems effective January 1st of this year.
The increase covers rising costs associated with building, operating and maintaining the electrical system infrastructure.
The cost means an extra $3.50 on the average resident’s monthly bill.
Business owners in Guelph will see an increase of just under $7 dollars a month.
