The comedy film that caused serious controversy in the movie world will soon be played right here in Waterloo Region.
Waterloo’s Princess Twin Cinemas tweeted that The Interview would be played on January 9th.
Sony has released the film “The Interview” to more cable, satellite and telecom services.
Time Warner Cable, Comcast, DirecT-V and Playstation Network are now carrying it.
Major theatre chains had cancelled their showings of the film after hackers made threats against theatres.
The hackers were upset about how the film portrays North Korea leader Kim Jong Un.
Sony says the film will expand to 580 independent theatres by tomorrow.
