Ontario voters fed up with the offerings of the mainstream political parties may feel sorely tempted to vote for none of the above come election day – and one party is well placed to capitalize on the sentiment.
Registered for the June 12th election is the None of the Above Party of Ontario – or NOTA – whose main plank is to press for elected politicians not bound by party control along with recall and term limits.
“Almost nobody knows we even exist and as soon as people do, they’re sending emails for lawn signs,” said leader Greg Vezina, a founding candidate for the federal Green party in 1983.If voters find him NOTA good choice, they do have plenty of other options among the 20 registered parties.

Major changes for the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic. Richard Kuypers has resigned as tournament director – a position he held since the event was launched at Grey Silo three years ago. A tournament official tells us a search is underway internally to find his replacement. There’s also still plenty of speculation the tournament will be moving to another course next year. Manulife officials said at a news conference in May any possible changes would be announced after this year’s tournament. Last month, Manulife extended its sponsorship agreement for two more years, covering 2015 and 2016. Inbee Park won the 2014 tournament on Sunday.
