More roundabouts could be on the way to Waterloo Region. The Planning and Works Committee made two recommendations on the matter to council earlier this week. One called for a roundabout to be placed at Westmount Road and the yet to be complete Laurelwood Drive extension in Waterloo.

Randy Carlyle will remain the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs after receiving a two-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday. There was speculation that Carlyle would be let go after the Leafs’ late-season collapse led to them missing the NHL playoffs.
